STICHWORT Library

STICHWORT is a feminist library with a wide range of literature on all areas of Women’s and Gender Studies, Lesbian Studies, Queer Studies as well as selected fiction. The library currently has about 18,000 titels, mostly in German and English.

Among the holdings are early works of feminist theory from the ’60s and ‘70s that are considered classics today. But also its large holdings of gray literature make STICHWORT a very special library.

International feminist periodicals stand on the shelves in the reading room, where they can be perused, and the individual articles are documented in the STICHWORT database.

Old and rare books from around 1900 and afterwards and reference works in print and electronic form complement the holdings.
